Domaine Montrose Chardonnay has a yellow colour with green hints. It has a nose of fresh fruit. Drink young.
For nine generations, the estate has belonged to the Coste family. “The Valros Tower” next to their vineyard was a Carolingian necropolis and then a stronghold in the Middle Ages. Since the 16th century, the Coste family have made wine at Montrose, as evidenced by the underground tanks beneath the wine cellar. In 1701 their ancestor Joseph Alazard received the Three Lizards coat of arms. In homage to him, it adorns all bottles today. More than just a winery, Montrose is an animated place of life and sharing. The Coste family''s ancestral savoir-faire and a commitment to each moment allow them to create exceptional wines.

Sustainable
Each terroir is vinified separately. Grapes are destemmed before a short skin contact or a direct pressing. Fermentation temperature is maintained between 15°C and 18°C (59-64°F) to enhance fruitiness. Wines resulting from the different terroirs are blended after fermentation and then aged in stainless steel vats. Wine is bottled during winter and spring. A unique blend of three terroirs for an inimitable style. Domaine Montrose prefer ageing this wine in stainless steel tanks rather than in oak barrels to preserve its freshness, fruity aromas and minerality. It perfectly represents the balance and elegance they are looking for in their wines.
Tasting Note
This is a Chardonnay that balances the freshness and weight that the varietal can offer. As the wine is unoaked, it is characterised by fresh fruit aromas like peaches, oranges and lemon peel. On the palate, the wine balances richness of body with fresh acidity to give great vibrancy.
