Viura grapes are indigenous to Rioja and produce fresh, fruity wines when adapted to the terroir. Alcohol: 13%.
The name Santalba is a fusion of the first name and surname of its owner and founder Santiago Ijalba. Bodegas Santalba is in Gimileo, near to Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta and around 40km from Logroño in Spain. Its geographical location, climate and soil give this region, its land and its wines, a distinctive character. Santalba sets out to make wines of the highest quality and which have an individual character. Honesty, the best quality grapes, experience, knowledge and passion, all passed down from previous generations, allow the Bodega to offer the finest wines.
Derived from a very soft pressing of grapes. Spontaneous and controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Note
This is a moderately aromatic white wine with aromas of apple and lemon fruit. Fresh, creamy and medium bodied with tree fruit flavours.
