Inspired by the fantastic list pulled together by the Irish Times of the Best 100 Irish Books of the 21st Century, we have added a few of our own – based on the books that we constantly have to restock and customer recommendations – our additions are here also to avoid confusion
Books are in descending order and we are not claiming that it is definitive in any sense - in fact, our favourite reads haven’t made either list! However, it would be impossible to find a bad book here and is a huge testament to the quality of Irish writing in general! Notable that in the same week The Spectator is heralding the death throes of Literary Fiction in the UK, we can’t edit a list to 100 excellent reads without losing some incredible books – in fact several authors deserve to have everything they have ever produced on here!
Occasionally, multiple editions of the same book become available; we list those currently in stock.
PS: Let us know if we missed any!
